The New South Wales Government has approved the development of the $2.6 billion Mamre Road Precinct which will unlock approximately 850 hectares of new industrial land and deliver new public spaces and conversation areas.
This precinct is one of the 12 key precincts in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis development area and fast tracking this project will help secure Western Sydney’s future as a global hub for logistics as well as advanced manufacturing.
“This land release will provide opportunities for international and domestic businesses to invest in Western Sydney, enabling major warehousing, logistics, manufacturing and circular economy operations to be established.
“It will also bring a huge jobs boost to the region, creating opportunities for more than 5,200 jobs during the construction phase alone,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
The Mamre Road Precinct will have about 50 hectares of open space, include new cycling and walking paths that will open up inaccessible land to the public, and a further 70 hectares of conservation land that includes Cumberland Plain Woodland.
“Not only does this rezoning secure much-needed productive industrial land, it also safeguards critical environmental areas and provides some fantastic new public spaces for the future residents of the Western Parkland City,” Planning and Public Spaces Minister Rob Stokes said.
The rezoning of the Mamre Road Precinct is another major milestone in the transformation of the Western Parkland City into a thriving hub that will provide new jobs, homes, infrastructure as well as open spaces.
“We already have interested businesses from the transport and logistics, pharmaceutical and data storage industries ready to move into the precinct and capitalise on its future connections to local, regional and overseas markets,” Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said.
In addition, Mirvac’s proposed 56-hectare Aspect Industrial Estate will be included in the development of the Mamre Road Precinct. The estate will include high-quality industrial facilities that will focus on flexibility, functionality and sustainability.
The Aspect Industrial Estate is expected to create up to 610 jobs during its construction and about 1,900 jobs once operational.
In the second half of 2020, Mirvac is set to lodge a State Significant Development Application that is in line with the State Government’s criteria for fast-tracked assessments.

“Aspect Industrial Estate meets the key criteria set out by the NSW Government for fast tracked rezoning, including a ‘shovel ready’ site that will accelerate critical construction and operational jobs as well as investment to the local area. The estate is set to deliver key infrastructure to the wider Mamre Road Precinct, sitting at the heart of a new employment hub for Western Sydney with excellent transport links and in close proximity to the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport at Badgerys Creek,” Mirvac’s CEO and Managing Director Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz said.
The first industrial estates included in the Mamre Road Precinct is anticipated to be occupied beginning in mid-2021.
The $2.6 billion Mamre Road Precinct development is part of the Tranche 2 of the State Government’s Planning System Acceleration Program that aims to fast track planning assessments to create jobs and keep the economy moving during the COVID-19 pandemic.
