Scentre Group and QIC Global Real Estate has announced a new development in Queensland, the $470 million Westfield Coomera on the northern Gold Coast.

The development is going to be located about 500 metres away from the Pacific Motorway (M1) and will be next to the Coomera train station. This project, once completed, will become the heart of a booming region and will be offering an exciting social destination for the Gold Coast’s northern growth corridor.

The new development will be a 59,000-SQM centre which will transform the local retail experience and deliver a new benchmark lifestyle, dining and entertainment destination for the region. Westfield Coomera will feature dining and entertainment as well as large open green spaces where kids can play and where locals can get together and enjoy.

“This is the first Westfield ‘greenfield’ development in more than a decade and will form part of the longer-term Coomera Town Centre project that will encompass a wide range of amenities for the local region.

“The future town centre will include community space, commercial, residential and mixed use elements, which will complement the retail and lifestyle destination we’re currently developing for residents of the Gold Coast’s fastest-growing region,” Scentre Group’s Chief Operating Officer Greg Miles said.

Works on the project is currently underway and is set to be completed in late 2018. Approximately 7,500 jobs will be created during construction and operations – once completed – of the Westfield Coomera centre.
