The Decmil Group and RJE Global joint venture has been awarded a $71 million contract to deliver balance of plant works at the Ryan Corner Wind Farm in Victoria.
The contract award is going to be on a split scope basis, with Decmil securing $51 million and RJE Global receiving the remaining $20 million.
Scope of works for the entire contract will include the design and construction of civil as well as electrical balance of plant for the wind farm. This includes wind turbine bases, access tracks, site cabling and a switch room.
Works are expected to commence in December and are due to be completed by the end of 2021.
“This award is testament to our proven track record in successfully delivering wind farm projects, following the successful completion of the Warradarge and Yandin wind farms this fiscal year.
“The contract also further strengthens our long-standing relationship with RJE, who worked with us as subcontractors for the Warradarge and Yandin projects,” Decmil CEO Dickie Dique said.
The project is being developed by Global Power Generation (GPG), which is a subsidiary of Naturgy Energy Group.
This new renewable energy project is comprised of 52 wind turbines with a total capacity of 218MW.
Ryan Corner Wind Farm is going to be built near Port Fairy, approximately 300 kilometres west of Melbourne.
GPG has already signed a power purchase agreement with Snowy Hydro earlier this year for about 75 per cent of the generated power from the wind farm, further securing the development of the Ryan Corner Wind Farm.
