Construction works are on the horizon for WA's $207m Karratha Health Campus, with the successful tenderer for the project, Joint Venture Cooper & Oxley and Brookfield Multiplex, due to commence work in mid-2016.

The consutrction works are expected to cost around $90m and follows LandCorp's preliminary earthworks that were undertaken in 2014-15.

What's even more exciting, is that PlantMiner's platform connected the procurement team of the project with trusted suppliers in the area, resulting in one PlantMiner supplier winning a $170K job for site amenities and office set-ups.

Expect to see site amenities going up very soon, and equipment rolling around like dozers, cranes, excavators, forklifts, graders, jack hammersloaders and more!

The Health Campus will replace Nickol Bay Hospital and will support health facilities in Roebourne, Tom Price, Onslow and Paraburdoo.

The 40-bed facility is the largest public hospital investment in regional WA's history and is expected to be completed in 2018. Karratha Health Campus will boast:

  • expanded emergency department
  • new surgical centre
  • new delivery suits and maternity wing
  • improved technology through world-class Telehealth services
  • new and expanded outpatient and essential services e.g. child health and medical imaging
  • a helipad
  • additional health services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, counselling, mental health support, etc
