Urbis, on behalf of Destination Brisbane Consortium, has submitted the largest single development application in Queensland history for the multi-billion dollar Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Integrated Resort Development (QWBIRD).
The information on the development application is part of the detailed documentation development assessment process and it also provides a look into some of the Queen’s Wharf’s sub-precincts included in the project.
Key features of the Queen’s Wharf development include:
- ARC Deck – an iconic tourist attraction that will straddle across four new buildings
- Transforming the treasury building into a boutique shopping centre which will include a new underground retail arcade that links to the new casino buildings
- 12 football fields of brand new public space
- Five new hotels, including a six-star Ritz-Carlton and a five-star Rosewood, Dorsett Hotels
- 50 new bars and restaurants
- A new pedestrian bridge to South Bank
- A new 1,500-1,600 seat theatre complex in South Bank
- The world’s largest nightly water and light show
- Premium cinema, moonlight cinema and outdoor function area
- A comprehensive outdoor gym in Waterline Park, located between the waterfront and 1 William Street. A full and extensive range of active recreation facilities in a contemporary landscape.
- Youth entertainment tech zone, 1500 seat ballroom, terrace, meeting rooms, gaming halls
- Three new residential towers which varies in height
- Three new hotel towers which varies in height
- Horizon lounge and resort skypools
- Heritage restoration of The Mansions, Harris Terrace, The Printery, Former State Library, Commissariat Building, DPI Building, Treasury Hotel, and The Treasury Building
