Ausdrill lined up for $180m Wodgina lithium mine contract

Ausdrill has signed a letter of intent for a $180 million contract with Process Minerals International (PMI) – a subsidiary of Mineral Resources Limited – for works on the Wodgina lithium mine in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The proposed three-year contract will get Ausdrill to provide drill and blast services to the mine, where the company will be utilising 29 drill rigs and an on-site workforce of up to 150.

Ausdrill Managing Director, Ron Sayers said: “We are very pleased to have successfully negotiated this new contract and look forward to working closely with the PMI team in building a successful partnership.”

The contract is expected to be awarded once Ausdrill and PMI have finalised the contract terms and conditions as well as the execution of the contract.

The Wodgina lithium mine is located approximately 100 kilometres south-east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region, and it is one of the world’s biggest hard rock lithium resources.
