Brisbane set to get $270m luxury residential tower

Written by PlantMiner | May 31, 2016 2:00:00 PM

An 82-storey, $270m residential tower designed by Rothelowman and developed by Aria Property Group has been approved by the Brisbane City Council for 171 Edward St in Brisbane metro.

At 274m it is the maximum height allowed for CBD buildings and will feature a mix of one and two-bedroom dwellings across a total of 652 apartments.

The Hermès store located on the site will be demolished to make way for construction, and a new Hermès store will occupy the ground level of the building.

171 Edward St will be opened up to the wider neighbourhood, offering over 2,100sqm of retail and commercial space across four stories.

The building will boast over 3,000sqm of communal recreation space for residents, which is the largest offering in the Brisbane CBD for one building. Levels 4, 5 and 6 - the 'recreation floors' - will include a residents' bar, theatre, karaoke bar, dining, gym, yoga studio and residents' lounge, large landscaped roof garden, lap pool and spa. Level 60 of the building will offer residents city views from the dining room with a dedicated kitchen, a games room and a second residents' lounge.

Introducing hotel-like amenities to residential developments has become standard practice for Rothelowman projects to provide a sense of luxury and community and promote health and fitness.

It's certainly an exciting time to live in Brisbane with so many world-class developments in the pipeline alongside 171 Edward St, including Queens Wharf and the proposed Entertainment Arena Precinct
