The Victorian Government is investing approximately $50 million for the revitalisation of Carrum which will transform the bayside suburb as well as create a new open space that the local community can enjoy all year round.

The level crossing removal works – under the Frankston Line upgrade project – made this upgrade possible which will build a brand new beach promenade as well as create a new parkland and picnic areas near the bay.

As part of the project, Carrum village is going to be transformed once the existing train storage facility is relocated to a site near Kananook Station, which will create even more landscaped open space around the new Carrum Station.

“We’re getting on with revitalising Carrum – transforming this bayside community into a modern, vibrant, well-connected suburb for everyone to enjoy.

“This is a huge win for the local community. We’re not only getting rid of dangerous and congested level crossing – we’re creating new open space, parkland and picnic areas just a stone’s throw from the beach,” Premier Daniel Andrews said.
