Civilex has been subcontracted by Lendlease to deliver the early works package for the upgrade on the HMAS Cerberus at Crib Point, Victoria - approximately 75 kilometres from Melbourne.

Civilex’s scope of works for this project will include the construction of temporary car parks and roads that can accommodate the main construction activities. In addition, the company will also build the Intake Switching Station that is associated with the EMOS Workshop. Other works under Civilex’s contract include associated earthworks, drainage, building pads, flexible and rigid pavement construction and landscaping.

In a statement, Civilex said: “Innovation played a major part on Civilex’s detailed submission and was demonstrated through alternative pavement design involving the use of high-strength geotextile. In addition to the value for money associated with the use of this product, the client was impressed with Civilex’s expertise in constructing high-strength geotextile pavements.”
