Construction is now underway on Tilt Renewables’ $560 million Dundonnell Wind Farm in Victoria which is expected to create up to 200 construction jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs for the region, and generate enough clean energy to power 245,000 local homes.
The 336MW Dundonnell Wind Farm is comprised of 80 turbines and is being developed on a 4,500-hectare site located approximately 23 kilometres north east of Mortlake. The wind farm is going to be connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM) with a 38-kilometre 220kV transmission line to the Mortlake Gas Fired Power Station (MOPS).
The wind turbines for this project are going to be assembled locally at the new Vestas Renewable Energy Hub (VREH) on the former Ford site in Geelong. Assembly of the wind turbines locally will underpin up to 64 per cent of local content through the State Government’s Victorian Industry Participation Policy.

The Dundonnell Wind Farm is being developed in coordination with the Victorian Renewable Energy Target reverse auction - a program that will deliver over 900MW of new clean energy projects that will help slash energy prices and provide more renewable energy for the region.
“The Dundonnell Wind Farm will not only reduce energy prices but will create jobs across south-west Victoria,” Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio said.
The wind farm is due to be completed by the end of 2019, with full commercial operations anticipated for September 2020.
