The next stage of the Spring Farm Parkway project in New South Wales is progressing towards construction and Jacobs Australia has been appointed to carry out design works along with the Review of Environmental Factors report.

These critical elements will be used to develop the final business case from which funding for project construction will be determined.

Spring Farm Parkway Stage 2 will complete the key east-west link between the suburbs of Menangle Park and Spring Farm.

Key project benefits include:

  • An alternate east west link connecting Camden Bypass, Hume Motorway and Menangle Road
  • Improved access to established and developing residential and employment precincts in the Greater Macarthur Growth Area, including Spring Farm, Elderslie, Menangle Park, Mount Annan and Glen Alpine
  • Improving journey times for motorists, including freight, while providing an alternative to Narellan Road
  • New shared user paths to support greater access, travel mode choice and safety for pedestrians and cyclists
  • Direct access for freight trucks to a Southern Sydney Freight Line terminal
  • Enhancing the road network to improve accessibility and support the introduction of future bus services, ensuring better connectivity for the community
  • Improving flood resilience

The concept design and Review of Environmental Factors are due to be released for public consultation in late 2026, with the final Business Case to be completed by early 2027.

Subject to final approvals and funding, detailed design and construction will commence upon completion of the Business Case.

Once completed, Spring Farm Parkway is expected to divert about 30,000 cars away from Narellan Road each day.

The Australian and New South Wales Governments have committed $15 million to progress planning for Spring Farm Parkway Stage 2.
