CPB wins contract for works on M1 Pacific Highway widening project

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has awarded CPB Contractors a contract to deliver works on the M1 Pacific Motorway widening project, between Tuggerah and Doyalson in New South Wales. The construct only contract is expected to generate revenue of about $145 million for CPB.

“It is out privilege to work with the NSW Government to help improve the safety and efficiency of this critical network link and heavily-trafficked transport hub, which supports industry and the economy, as well as surrounding communities,” said CIMIC Chief Executive Officer Adolfo Valderas.

Upgrade works will include:

  • Widening of the 12-kilometre section of the M1 Pacific Highway between Wyong Road, Tuggerah and the Doyalson Link Road to three lanes in each direction
  • Reconstruction of a 9-kilometre section of carriageway to provide an upgraded and more durable road surface
  • Improvement works on key interchanges such as the Warnervale and Doyalson interchanges
  • Widening of existing bridges at Sparks Road and St Johns Road

The M1 Pacific Motorway is a critical link in the National Land Transport Network and it is also a part of one of the country’s busiest transport corridors – the Sydney to Brisbane corridor.

Preparation for construction is underway, with works expected to begin in a few weeks. The project is expected to be completed in 2019.
