Downer Blasting Services (DBS) has recently been awarded $240 million of new work in both open cut and underground mines in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia.
These new contracts incorporate a range of services from explosive supply through to full blasting services, including design.
David Overall, the Chief Executive Officer of Downer's mining business, congratulated the DBS team on its success in both extending contracts with existing customers and winning new work.
“The new capability of underground emulsion explosive supply, matched with new equipment technology, brings improved productivity and safety to the underground market, which has been well received by the industry.
“The ongoing support of both our existing and new customers is testimony to the importance of continued consistent delivery, innovation and our ongoing, strong relationships.”
