The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads has awarded Downer’s DM Roads a $140 million North Coast District Road Asset Maintenance Contract.
Under the five-year contract, DM Roads will deliver long-term asset management as well as routine and programmed maintenance works on local roads in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Somerset.
“DM Roads has been responsible for the delivery of routine and programmed maintenance services to the North Coast District since 2013. The road network has 2,496 kilometres under management and the contract renewal, valued at approximately $140 million, supports the employment of more than 120 local people,” Downer said in a statement.
Scope of works covered by the contract will include road surfacing, pothole and pavement repairs, drainage management and asset inspection.
DM Roads is a joint venture between Downer and UK-based Kier Group. The company delivers solutions in road network and asset management, routine maintenance works, intelligent transport systems and smart city infrastructure.
