Atlas Iron Pty Ltd has awarded MACA Limited a $38 million contract for early civil works at the Corunna Downs Iron Ore Project located in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

“MACA is delighted to have been awarded these early civil works for Atlas demonstrating the civil capability within our end to end mining service offering. We look forward to being part of the successful development of Corunna Downs and continuing our long-standing relationship with Atlas,” MACA CEO Mike Sutton said.

The 8-month Public Road Upgrade and Access Road Works contract will include upgrading a 22-kilometre section of public road as well as the construction of a 13-kilometre access road.

Works will commence in June and completed by the end of this year, with approximately 80 people to be employed during peak construction.

The Corunna Downs Iron Ore Project is located about 33 kilometres south of Marble Bar in the Pilbara.

MACA Limited has a long-standing work relationship with Atlas as the company has previously provided works at the Pardoo, Mt Dove, Abydos and Wodgina operations. In addition, MACA is also currently providing crushing services at Atlas’ Mount Webber operations.
