Expressions of Interest are now open for the $131 million Yan Yean Road upgrade in Plenty – one of the most dangerous and congested roads in Victoria’s north.
“We’re improving safety and reducing congestion for the thousands of drivers who travel on Yan Yean Road every day,” said Minister for Roads Luke Donnellan
The project will include expanding Yan Yean Road from two lanes to four lanes between Diamond Creek Road to Kurrak Road. Upgrades to the River Avenue, Kurrak Road and Diamond Creek Road intersections will also be included in the works.
Other works to be done as part of the upgrade will include the following:
“We’re putting people first by upgrading Yan Yean Road – making it more reliable and safer by reducing the risk of head on crashes.
“I look forward to seeing work begin on the Yan Yean Road Upgrade to deliver for drivers the congestion relief and travel time improvements that are desperately needed,” said Member for Yan Yean Danielle Green.
EOIs will be closing on 18th January 2017 and the shortlisted companies will be invited to take part in the tender process by March. Construction works are projected to begin by mid-2017.
