Thousands of jobs are set to be created across different sectors in South Australia over the next 10 years as development on Lot Fourteen – the State’s innovation precinct – progresses with the delivery of the new Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the design and finance as well as construction and ownership of the Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre have been released to market. Interested parties will have until 10 September 2020 to submit their applications.
“Lot Fourteen is a beacon of opportunity for the next generation. It’s going to drive jobs and start-ups, and encourage entrepreneurship.
“This precinct is going to generate a jobs bonanza for our state, and stop the brain drain of young talent we’ve seen in the past,” Premier Steven Marshall said.
The new Centre is a key feature of the $551 million Adelaide City Deal announced in 2019, making this project a key driver in creating the next generation of South Australian businesses and jobs.
“Lot Fourteen has already created thousands of jobs – and will create thousands of jobs in the coming years.
“This site is rapidly developing into a magnet for international companies from across space, defence, cyber, big data, machine learning and much more,” the Premier said.
The new Entrepreneur and Innovation Centre is going to be the centrepiece of Lot Fourteen, featuring a collaborative and curated Innovation Hub – an integral part of the Centre – on the ground and first floors that will help facilitate industry and research coming together to drive commercially focused ideas and solutions.
“Investing in this precinct will provide a springboard for innovation and bring together South Australia’s leading abilities in space, defence, new technologies and entrepreneurship.
“Through the centre we can accelerate ideas and opportunities for a huge range of businesses and organisations at Lot Fourteen,” Minister for Population, Cities and Urban Infrastructure Alan Tudge said.
Lot Fourteen is located on North Terrace cultural boulevard in Adelaide's CBD, neighbouring the University of Adelaide and University of South Australia.
The EOIs for this project was launched by Renewal SA on behalf of the South Australian Government. For this development, Renewal SA is looking for proponents that have a “demonstrated experience in successfully delivering complex and innovative projects”.
