Clough will be delivering the second stage of the Waitsia gas field development in the northern Perth Basin in Western Australia following the award of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract.
The Waitsia project is being developed by the Waitsia Joint Venture which is comprised of Mitsui E&P Australia and Beach Energy.

This project is expected to create up to 200 jobs during its construction phase and a further 12 to 15 jobs once operational as well as provide significant benefits to the local region and the rest of Western Australia.
The Waitsia project is locate near the town of Dongara, about 350 kilometres north of Perth and 65 kilometres south of Geraldton.
The Waitsia gas field is one of the five largest gas fields discovered onshore in Australia.
Stage 2 of the project will further develop the gas field by creating eight more wells over a 20-year life cycle and the construction of a new gas processing plant with a production capacity of 250 terrajoules a day.
Gas from the Waitsia operations will be conveyed via the nearby Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
Two of the eight proposed wells have already been developed and the remaining six are planned to be drilled over the next few years.
Initial construction on Waitsia Stage 2 is expected to commence in July 2021, with first production to begin by the second half of 2023.
