Formal market engagement begins for Gabba entertainment & housing precinct

Formal market engagement is now underway for the development of a vibrant new entertainment and housing precinct in Woolloongabba, Queensland. 

The State Government is now inviting the private sector to register their interest in delivering the proposed transformation of the former GoPrint site and The Gabba stadium. 

The precinct spans more than nine hectares of prime inner-city land, about two kilometres from the CBD. The combined project sites are linked to key public transport infrastructure including the South East Busway and future Woolloongabba Cross River Rail Station. 

Following the formal market engagement, a competitive process will be developed to invite the private sector to submit proposals. 

The development of the Woolloongabba entertainment and housing precinct is part of the 2032 Delivery Plan and it also aligns with the Queensland Government’s commitment to deliver connectivity and a generational legacy from the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

The new precinct will unlock: 

• Tourism opportunities through major events, sports, and experiences 

• New investment attraction in hospitality, retail, and residential development 

• Increased housing and urban activation in one of Australia’s fastest growing cities 

• Access and connectivity to the Cross River Rail line, minutes from the CBD
