Georgiou Group has been appointed by new South Wales’ Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) to continue works on the $48 million Tabulam Bridge project as part of the State's Bridges for the Bush program.

The new bridge is set to replace the old State heritage-listed Bruxner Highway Bridge.

The project’s scope of works will include roadworks, bridgeworks as well as associated works to realign an 830-metre section of the Bruxner Highway at Tabulam beginning from the east of Clarence River to about east of the existing Overflow Bridge located west of the Clarence River.

Over the coming months, Georgiou Group will undertake the completion of piling and pier construction in preparation for girder installation and deck pour.

Weather permitting, the new Tabulam Bridge is still on track to be completed by mid-2020.

Approximately 70 per cent of the project has already been delivered under a previous contractor and Georgiou Group will be completing the construction of the new bridge over the Clarence River.

Georgiou Group and RMS will continue working with the subcontractors previously appointed to deliver the project where appropriate and applicable. The previous contractor also worked with Georgiou Group and RMS for a smooth handover of the project.
