GR Engineering to deliver new facility at VIC Fosterville gold mine

Fosterville Gold Mine Pty Ltd has awarded GR Engineering a $23.9 million contract for works on a paste backfill plant at the Fosterville mine located approximately 21 kilometres east of Bendigo in Victoria.

GR Engineering’s scope of works under this contract will include all process engineering design as well as supply, construction and commissioning of a paste backfill plant that will have the capacity to produce 65 cubic metres per hour of paste which will be used to fill stopes at the Fosterville gold mine. The company will also be undertaking the design of an underground reticulation piping for the project.

“GR Engineering’s team has an excellent track record in the design and construction of paste backfill facilities. We look forward to demonstrating our capability at Fosterville through the safe and successful delivery of this plant,” GR Engineering Managing Director Geoff Jones said.

Construction on the new paste backfill plant will commence immediately, with the facility due to be completed in 2019.

Earlier in August 2018, GR Engineering has also secured a contract from Saracen Gold Mines for the delivery of a new paste backfill plant for at the Carosue Dam gold operations in Western Australia.
