GR Engineering Services (GRES) has been awarded the $12.5 million contract to refurbish Eastern Goldfields’ Davyhurst Gold Processing Plant north west of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

GR Engineering will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for Davyhurst’s upgrade while Eastern Goldfields will manage the facility’s installation of tails line as well as concrete repairs and structural steel repainting.

The Davyhurst processing facility is being upgraded and re-commissioned to process ore within the Davyhurst hub from nearby production sources. Construction is expected to begin immediately and is set to be completed early in 2017.

“The award of this contract to GRES is a major milestone in the steps required to bring the Davyhurst Project back into opetation. We expect to be pouring gold early during the first quarter of 2017. The award of this contract, together with the drilling we have conducted on our large tenement footprint, augers well for the future of the company,” Eastern Goldfields Executive Chairman Michael Fotios said.
