Ora Banda Mining Limited has awarded GR Engineering Services (GRES) a $10.8 million contract for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works on the Davyhurst Gold Processing Plant restart project in Western Australia.

“GR Engineering is pleased to have been awarded the EPC contract for the Davyhurst Restart Project. We are excited to be working with Ora Banda’s management team and look forward to Ora Banda becoming Australia’s newest gold producer,” GR Engineering Managing Director Geoff Jones said.

GR Engineering’s scope of works under this contract will include the refurbishment, optimisation and recommissioning of the existing 1.2Mtpa Davyhurst Gold Processing Plant as well as borefield and associated infrastructure.

The company will begin works immediately, with completion due in the first quarter of 2021 calendar year.

The Davyhurst gold project is located about 120 kilometres north west of Kalgoorlie and it is comprised of both historical open cut and underground mining operations.

Ora Banda is expecting to produce up to 418,000 ounces of gold over an initial five-year mine life at the Davyhurst project.
