John Holland has been awarded a five-year $170 million contract to deliver capital works on Queensland Urban Utilities’ Southern Treatment Plants project - a package of works that will help future-proof sewage treatment facilities in the south-east.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured this program of works, providing critical infrastructure upgrades for the people of south-east Queensland,” John Holland General manager QLD/NT Rob Evans said.

Under this contract, John Holland will renew as well as upgrade existing wastewater treatment facilities in the south-east - including Ipswich, Somerset, the Lockyer Valley and the Scenic Rim - to complement the growing numbers in local communities.

“Together we are striving to deliver innovative solutions that are reliable, resilient and sustainable for future generations.

“Queensland Urban Utilities has a unique approach to delivering positive outcomes across all projects. Our team factored this, and our customer’s need to see ongoing value throughout the entire project lifecycle to help secure this program of works,” John Holland General Manager Water Services Mal Shepherd said.

John Holland is anticipated to commence work on the Southern Treatment Plants Capital Works Program in March 2019.
