Adelaide is set to benefit from a $194 million investment from the Australian and South Australian Governments which will deliver a number of upgrades on congested roads across the region.

This joint investment will get works going on the Cross Road - Fullarton Road intersection at Highgate as well as the Portrush and Magill Roads intersection in Maylands.

These project are being delivered as part of the Morrison Government’s Urban Congestion Fund package for Adelaide.

For the Cross Road - Fullarton Road intersection project, the two governments will each contribute $30.5 million. This project will involve the delivery of additional through, slip and turning lanes to help ease congestion and improve safety for locals going to and from nearby schools and other establishments.

With Cross Road forming part of the Outer Ring Route, motorists passing through the Mitcham Hills area and South Eastern Freeway will also benefit from the upgrade.

Both governments will also be contributing $49 million each to widen Portrush Road approaching the intersection at Magill Road, easing congestion so locals passing through the route will get home sooner.

In addition, the investment will also contribute $35 million towards the upgrading of the Goodwood / Springbank / Daws intersection.
