Lendlease awarded $169.5 million redevelopment for Shepparton Hospital Melbourne

Lendlease has been appointed as the contractor for the state-of-the-art expansion for the Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton, Victoria.

The $169.5 million redevelopment was announced by the State Government late last week and will include a new four-storey building with 64 inpatient beds as well as 10 intensive care unit beds and seven operating theatres with a brand-new emergency department.

Lendlease Building General Manager - Victoria, Joe Kokai, said the contract announcement was a proud moment for Lendlease and specifically the local delivery team.

“We are thrilled to be redeveloping Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton, which will join our growing portfolio of major hospital facilities successfully delivered, reinforcing our reputation in the healthcare and broader social infrastructure space,” Mr Kokai said.

Lendlease completed both the new Monash Children’s Hospital and new Bendigo Hospital earlier this year. They are currently building the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital at Sunshine in Melbourne’s west.

The Goulburn Valley Health project was announced by Premier Daniel Andrews in April last year and is scheduled to be completed by 2020.
