A major upgrade to Anzac Avenue in Queensland will soon get underway as part of a $7.2 billion investment into transport infrastructure on the North Coast.
Works will be carried out on a 3-kilometre section of Anzac Avenue between Diamond Jubilee Way and Kinsellas Road East in Mango Hill, through to Finnegan Street in Rothwell. The upgrade will include asphalt resurfacing and repairs, guardrail improvements and a full deck resurfacing of the Saltwater Creek.
Construction will begin in late January and is expected to be completed within this year, weather permitting.
Anzac Avenue is a critical north Brisbane arterial road and upgrading it is one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland’s future after a decade of decline under the former labor government.
“The Crisafulli Government is getting on with it and delivering the road network Queenslanders deserve by investing $5.6 billion over the next four years to improve the safety and durability of roads across our State.
“The work on Anzac Avenue forms part of the Crisafulli Government’s $7.2 billion investment over the next four years into transport infrastructure for the North Coast region, which includes the local government areas of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Somerset councils.
“When it comes to road safety, the Crisafulli Government is not taking any detours. This upgrade will extend the life of the road, cut maintenance costs, and give drivers confidence and peace of mind in the quality of our roads when they take the wheel,” Transport and Main Roads Minister Brent Mickelberg said.
