The second stage of the Mamre Road Upgrade in New South Wales is moving forward with site investigations south of Erskine Park Road now underway as part of planning works.
On the other hand, Stage 1 works are due to begin next year. The State Government has committed $248 million to deliver upgrades to Mamre Road between the M4 Motorway at St Clair and Erskine Park Road at Erskine Park.
“I’m excited to see the start of construction next year on Stage 1 between the M4 Motorway at St Clair and Erskine Park Road at Erskine Park.
“Stage 2 between Erskine Park and Kemps Creek is also crucial to the Mamre Road Precinct which will also include 5,200 construction jobs and 17,000 ongoing jobs when fully completed,” Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies said.
About $10 million in funding has been invested to progress the concept design as well as the Final Business Case for Stage 2 of the Mamre Road Upgrade.
“We’re committed to ensuring the growing number of people in this region have access to the infrastructure they need into the future which includes an upgraded Mamre Road.
“Site investigations will begin now for the second stage of the upgrade between Erskine Park Road and Kerrs Road which will connect the Mamre Road precinct to major motorways which include the M4 in the north and the future M12 in the south,” Minister for Metropolitan Roads Natalie Ward said.
As planning progresses, the community will continuously be consulted and be given the opportunity to have their say as part of the project’s planning approval process.
Longer term planning will also include the area served by the Western Sydney Freight line, which includes an intermodal facility.
