More than $63 million is being invested by the New South Wales Government to deliver critical infrastructure such as schools, roads and new emergency services across Western Sydney.
This significant funding will be delivered through the Western Sydney Growth Areas Special Infrastructure Contributions (SIC) program which will support critical infrastructure projects in the North and South-West Growth Areas.
“Western Sydney is growing fast, and this government is making sure the infrastructure keeps up. We’re not going to leave families waiting a decade for the basics like the former government – we’re delivering these schools, hospitals, roads and public transport right now.
“We aren’t just building the homes people need so that they can afford to continue to live in New South Wales, we’re also building the critical infrastructure that communities need,” Premier Chris Minns said.
“This funding will fast-track critical infrastructure needed to support housing supply some of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
“We’re acting swiftly to address housing supply and that also means investing in our communities to ensure they have essential infrastructure delivered along the way.
“Western Sydney is set to grow, and we’re acting now to ensure new homes come with the roads, schools and essential services that our communities expect and deserve,” Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said.

These projects will support about 125,000 new homes over the next 15 years and will be delivered by 30 June 2029 – funded through developer contributions collected under the SIC program.
This funding builds on the State Government’s track record investing in and delivering billions of dollars of infrastructure as well as services needed to support Western Sydney’s growth and build stronger communities.
“This $63.2 million will help deliver vital building blocks for these Western Sydney communities.
“For too long, Western Sydney has taken its fair share of housing, but the critical infrastructure has not been delivered alongside it.
“The Minns Government is funding infrastructure that the former Liberal-National Government failed to deliver for Western Sydney for over a decade,” Acting Minister for Western Sydney Courtney Houssos said.
“The Minns Government is committed to building a better NSW. By investing in our local schools, roads and emergency services, we’re making sure the Riverstone community has fair access to critical infrastructure.
“As our community here in Western Sydney continues to expand, it is essential that the best possible infrastructure is delivered at the same rate,” Member for Riverstone Warren Kirby said.
“This is welcome investment to plan, design and secure land for the infrastructure Leppington and the South West need.
“For too long, our community was forgotten when it came to the critical roads, schools and services needed to keep pace with rapid housing growth. This is another example of the Minns Labor Government ensuring our growing suburbs aren’t just places to live, but places where families can thrive,” Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty said.
