Perth-based engineering contractor Monadelphous Group has secured $200 million worth of works in the east coast which includes two major contracts in the water infrastructure market.
One of the contracts the company received is for a major upgrade of Unitywater’s Kawana sewage treatment plant on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
“Monadelphous’ design solution incorporates innovative process technology that improves the effectiveness of the plant and reduces the size of the site’s physical footprint.
“The upgrade includes the installation of new concrete structures, pipework and mechanical and electrical equipment and the refurbishment of existing equipment,” the company said in a statement.
Works on the Kawana sewage treatment plant are expected to be completed late 2018.
Adding to the Kawana project, Monadelphous’ existing contract with Sydney Water Corporation – the Network and Facility Renewals Program – has been expanded to include provisions for mechanical, electrical and civil services for water and waste water treatment facilities as well as pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs, chemical dosing facilities and odour control facilities.
“The appointment reinforce Monadelphous’ relationship with Sydney Water Corporation in the delivery of critical water and waste water infrastructure to the greater Sydney region.
“The contract which has been in operation since July 2013, continues until June 2018 and contains a two year extension option,” Monadelphous said in a statement.
