Monadelphous has secured a major contract valued at approximately $240 million for works at various BHP Billiton mining operations in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

According to Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri, this contract award builds on the company’s strong relationship with BHP over the last 20 years.

“The award of this contract is a testament to our reputation for delivering customer-focused engineering solutions and maintaining a high standard of safety and quality.

“We look forward to further develop our relationship with BHP over coming years, growing our operational footprint in the Pilbara and continuing to strengthen our long-term commitment to the region and the communities in which we operate,” Mr Velletri said.

The new contract will have an initial duration of three years with two one-year extension options and it will cover a number of general maintenance services to BHP’s mines - including shutdowns, outages and minor capital works. Monadelphous will be undertaking the works at the Mount Whaleback, Jimblebar, Eastern Ridge, Mining Area C and Yandi mines.
