Multiplex wins contract for $140m residential building for Central Park Sydney

Frasers Property Australia has chosen Multiplex as the head contractor to build the $140 million ‘Wonderland’ residential building as part of the former’s Central Park development in Sydney.

Wonderland is the final residential stage for this development project and it comprises of 294 apartments spread throughout a 13-storey ‘curvilinear’ building. The building – designed by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (fmjt) – will include facilities such as a cardio gym, rooftop entertainment and dining terrace as well as exclusive residents’ lounge and two open gardens. The development site is located on the Chippendale fringe of Central Park.

Multiplex will also be constructing a Greenwood Early Education and Childcare Centre as part of their Wonderland contract. This facility will be able to accommodate 90 children and it is the second childcare centre that Multiplex is delivering for the Central Park project.

“We are delighted to be appointed to Wonderland. It’s immensely rewarding for Multiplex to be part of this transformative project. Central Park is one of the highest calibre projects in Australia in both design and construction,” said Multiplex’s Regional Managing Director David Ghannoum.

Up to 400 jobs will be created during Wonderland’s construction for the next 19 months.

Construction is expected to commence in November and will be completed in early 2019.
