NRW Holdings’ subsidiary, Golding Contractors Pty Ltd, has been awarded a $93 million contract from Stanmore Coal for works at the Isaac Plains East mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. This contract extends Golding’s project term at the mine for another year to June 2019.

Golding’s scope of works under this contract extension is in line with the company’s current operations and maintenance services at the mine. Works include:

  • Overburden and topsoil removal
  • Drill and blast services
  • Dragline
  • Coal mining, handling and preparation, including train loadout
  • Mine rehabilitation
  • Mining fleet provision

Golding will commence works at the Isaac Plains East mine in July 2018.

“I am extremely pleased that Golding will continue the productive partnership with Stanmore Coal at Isaac Plains East. Further, I look forward to working with Stanmore Coal to sustain this relationship longer term as they continue to grow their resource base,” NRW Holdings Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Jules Pemberton said.

The Isaac Plains East mine - located approximately 7 kilometres east of Moranbah - was under care and maintenance up until Stanmore Coal restarted operations in 2016. Stanmore Coal acquired the mine in 2015, and it is focused at producing metallurgical coal. The mine also represents Stanmore Coal’s largest mining project.
