The Northern Territory’s $110 million Tiger Brennan Drive and Berrimah Road intersection overpass has marked a new milestone with the release of the project design.
The new overpass will help address congestion and safety issues on Tiger Brennan Drive, which caters to almost 20,000 vehicles daily and is the location of multiple crashes and fatalities.

Once open to traffic, the overpass will separate traffic on Tiger Brennan Drive from those on Berrimah Road, enabling the continuous flow of traffic along Tiger Brennan Drive to reduce congestion during peak hours. The overpass will also reduce travel times and improve freight connectivity to East Arm Wharf.
The contract to build the new overpass has been awarded to local contractor Sitzler.
Construction of the Tiger Brennan Drive and Berrimah Road intersection overpass is expected to take two years to complete and will support approximately 150 jobs at peak construction period.
To help minimise impacts on all road users, works are going to be delivered in stages.
“This landmark roads project will make the daily commute for 20,000 Territorians a whole lot safer.

“Our Government’s continued strong investment in new infrastructure projects will see support for local businesses across a number of industries meaning more jobs for Territorians,” Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Eva Lawler said.
