Major construction activities are set to commence soon on Western Australia’s new Inner City College at Kitchener Park in Subiaco, with Pact Construction awarded a $60.8 million contract to complete the main works for the school.

Pact was previously awarded the contract to deliver forward and earthworks for Stage 1 of the $68 million Inner City College project.

The Bateman Architects and T&Z Architects-designed Inner City College is going to be built across different levels that will span from three to four storeys. The new school will feature modern specialist facilities together with a sports hall, a gymnasium, lecture theatres and a library.

The iconic Subiaco Oval is going to be retained and it is going to be incorporated into the design of the Inner City College. The football oval is going to be shared with the community after school hours and on weekends.

The Inner City College is going to be easily accessed with the Subiaco and West Leederville train stations a walking distance away.

Premier Mark McGowan commented on a previous statement: “The college has been designed with both its unique location and community in mind - adding to the culture and character of Subiaco.”

The new school is set to open to an initial 250 year seven students in 2020, with up to 2,000 high school students in 2025.
