Planning commences to upgrade three key Goulburn intersections

Written by Monica Gameng | Jul 19, 2025 12:30:00 AM

Three key intersections in Goulburn have been earmarked to be upgraded, and the New South Wales Government has brought forward funding to get investigations and planning underway.

The three intersections slated for future upgrades are:

  • Clinton Street at Cowper Street
  • Clinton Street at Sloane Street
  • Hume Street at Finlay Road

“This investment is part of the Minns Labor Government’s investment in building better regional communities through safe, connected and efficient road and transport networks,” Minister for Roads Jenny Aitchison said.

As part of the planning process, the community is encouraged to have their say on the possible upgrades to these intersections, which could include installing traffic lights or building roundabouts at each intersection.

The consultation process is part of the planning phase of the projects that will ultimately keep Goulburn’s roads efficient, safe and accessible.

Feedback can be provided by taking an online survey or emailing written submissions to SouthProjects@transport.nsw.gov.au . Consultation will end on 8 August 2025.

Transport for NSW is also engaging with the Goulburn-Mulwaree Council to better understand how the local community uses the three intersections.

“Goulburn is a growing area, and it’s wonderful to see the Minns Labor Government working to deliver the infrastructure this area needs.

“We know that these intersections need an upgrade, and we’re getting on with the job of making sure these local roads are fit for purpose for years to come.

“I encourage everyone who uses these intersections to have their say and help shape the future of Goulburn’s road network,” Labor Duty MLC for Goulburn Bob Nanva said.
