Construction on the M12 Motorway in New South Wales is on track to commence this year as the State Government appoints a preferred contractors to deliver the central and western sections of the new motorway.
The joint venture between CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors and Georgiou Group has been awarded the contract, which will generate revenue of about $245 million for CPB Contractors.
On the other hand, Seymour Whyte has been awarded the contract to build the central section of the new motorway.

“CPB Contractors will ensure that this project creates opportunities for local suppliers and sub-contractors. Our teams are experienced in safely delivering major road projects in Sydney and will deliver this road according to schedule, ensuring it is available before the Western Sydney International Airport opens,” CPB Contractors Managing Director Jason Spears said.
The approximately $2 billion M12 Motorway project is being built as part of the $4.4 billion Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan (WSIP) and it is set to provide a direct access to the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport at Badgerys Creek as well as link to Sydney’s motorway network once completed.
The M12 Motorway is going to be a 16-kilometre east-west motorway that runs between the M7 Motorway, Cecil Hills and the Northern Road in Luddenham.

Construction of the new motorway is going to be split in three sections namely Western, Central and Eastern sections.
The western section will involve the construction of approximately 6.1 kilometres of the M12 Motorway - including the airport interchange and Elizabeth Drive flyover - along with 11 bridges. Meanwhile, the central section of the project will include the construction of the motorway between Cecil Park and Badgerys Creek.
The eastern section of the M12 Motorway will include a connection to Elizabeth Drive and the M7 Motorway, and procurement for this package of works will get underway this year.
The M12 Motorway is expected to be completed in late 2025.
This project is anticipated to support up to 2,400 jobs during its construction.
