Preferred alliance delivery partners have been announced to progress design and development of two new healthcare facilities in Western Australia.
Both alliances – comprised of architects, manufacturers and builders – will undertake design, development, site investigations as well as early works preparation for the new Royal Perth Hospital building and new hospital at the Peel Health Campus site.
“As Health Infrastructure Minister, I’ve been reviewing how to improve and accelerate major hospital projects.
“The alliance contracting model streamlines procurement and ultimately, will support quicker delivery times.
“It’s great to see significant milestones reached for these important projects for the Peel community and our inner-city hospital.
“This is part of our historic $4.9 billion health infrastructure program, which also includes the delivery of significant hospital building projects across regional WA,” Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey said.
Lendlease Construction Pty Ltd is the preferred alliance partner for the new Royal Perth Hospital building. The new purpose-built six-storey facility features two floors dedicated to the new emergency department, more ambulance bays and additional clinical service areas to meet operational requirements and emerging healthcare needs in the region.
On the other hand, the joint venture between Built Pty Ltd and Sacyr Construction Australia Pty Ltd has been chosen as the preferred alliance partner for the new hospital in Mandurah. To be built on the existing Peel Health Campus site, the new hospital for Mandurah and the Peel region will provide modern facilities as well as expanded healthcare services for the growing community.
Project Alliance agreements for both projects will be awarded once the Design and Development Stage has concluded. Construction on the two projects is expected to commence in mid-2026.
These projects are funded through the Cook Government’s $1.5 billion Building Hospital Fund.
“Both projects are key investments in the future of our public health system,
“They will deliver contemporary clinical spaces and expanded ambulance and inpatient capacity to meet the needs of our growing and aging population.
“They support frontline staff, enhance the experience for patients, and ensure Western Australians continue to access the emergency healthcare they need, when they need it,” Health Minister Meredith Hammat said.
