Following the award of a $115 million contract in December 2019, Primero Group has been awarded new work contracts with a combined value of $20 million that will extend its scope of works at Rio Tinto’s Koodaideri and Mesa K operations in the Pilbara.
This new contract win will get Primero Group to undertake additional civil works at the Mesa J PP2 Wet Processing Facility, extending its Mesa K contract. The Mesa J project is being developed as part of Rio Tinto’s Robe Valley Sustaining projects.
The new contract will also include additional option selections for implementation to Primero Group’s previous $115 million Koodaideri contract award – which included engineering, procurement and construction as well as design, fabrication and supply of mine infrastructure.
Primero Group will be undertaking works on both projects simultaneously. Works at Mesa J are due to be completed this year, while works at the Koodaideri operations are due to be completed in line with the original contracted completion in mid-2021.
