Registrations of Interest (ROIs) are being called to build a 107-kilometre section of the multi-billion dollar Inland Rail project.
According to Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester, this massive project will be providing significant opportunities for suppliers and businesses – including construction companies – to build the Parkes to Narromine section of the Inland Rail.
“The Parkes to Narromine project is a major priority within the Inland Rail project and construction is expected to start early next year.
“The work will involve upgrading the existing rail corridor including the construction of a new 5.2-kilometre connection in a greenfield corridor.
“Suitably experienced companies are invited to apply to join a shortlist which will then proceed to a formal Expressions of Interest phase. Evaluation criteria will include company experience, suitability for the project, and a demonstrated ability to carry out the works,” Mr Chester said.
The Inland Rail will serve as a connection between Brisbane and Melbourne, and the project will be supporting thousands of jobs across regional Australia – including up to 16,000 direct and indirect jobs during peak construction.
