Companies Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) and Tempo Australia have secured work contracts with a combined value of $26 million.

The Great Northern Connect joint venture – comprising of Laing O’Rourke and BGC Contracting – has awarded SCEE a $20 million contract to install the electrical and intelligent transport system as part of the NorthLink WA project.

“I am pleased to announce this award, which increases the presence of SCEE in the transport infrastructure sector.

“We look forward to working with Great Northern Connect and Main Roads Western Australia on the successful completion of NorthLink WA Central Section,” SCEE Managing Director Graeme Dunn said.

On the other hand, Tempo Australia has secured a number of construction contracts valued at approximately $6 million. Works for the company include upgrading the security system for Woodside’s Pluto gas plant located in Karratha.

Tempo will also undertake shutdown support services for BHP and Santos as well as installation work for Optus and Telstra in Queensland.

“Tempo Australia has been actively involved in a tendering phase while markets have been in a state of delay, and we’re optimistic that these recent wins are a sign of what’s to come in 2018,” Tempo Managing Director Max Bergomi said.
