Southern Cross Electrical Engineering (SCEE) has been awarded two contracts with a total value of $25 million for works on Rio Tinto’s Amrun bauxite project in Queensland.
Civmec has awarded SCEE with a $20 million subcontract to for provision of electrical as well as instrumentation works on the mine’s process facility. The second contract – worth $5 million – has been awarded by Decmil Group for the design, supply and construction of electrical, communications, instrumentation and controls for Amrun’s infrastructure site.
“These awards were foreshadowed in SCEE’s half-year results announcement as being included in the order book as ‘projects in the final stages of approval’,” SCEE said in a statement.
Earlier this month, SCEE has also won a number of contracts which includes one from Bechtel for works on the Wheatstone gas project near Oslow, WA as well as a contract from Lendlease for works on the RAAF Base Tindal airfield near Darwin. SCEE, under their new subsidiary Heyday5, has secured works on various redevelopment projects on the east coast as well.
