Sedgman will commence works this month, with completion expected by mid-2022.
The Byerwen coal project is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 20 kilometres west of Glenden. Mining operations at Byerwen is already underway and construction has been completed on the Stage 1 Coal Handling and Preparation Plant – which was also delivered by Sedgman.
The mine is anticipated to produce up to 10 million tonnes of hard coking coal annually. Coal from the mine is transported to Abbot Point Coal Terminal for export.
