The Andrews Labor Government is planning to transform Frankston in Victoria, giving Young Street a much needed upgrade and Seymour Whyte will be the head contractor for this $13 million project. Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke also announced that a design competition for the Frankston station has officially opened.
The improvement project will be revitalising Young Street – between Wells and Beach Streets – in order to create safer and easier access to Frankston station for local residents and pedestrians.

Included in the Young Street improvements will be to build a new bus interchange which features better seating as well as wider footpaths, new trees and new traffic signals.
“The revitalisation of Young Street is the next step in transforming the heart of Frankston – that’s what our station precinct upgrade is all about.
“These works will breathe new life into Young Street, and make it easier for people to get around and enjoy the precinct,” Mr Edbrooke said.
Works on Young Street and the rebuilding of Frankston station are going to be the centre of the Labor Government’s $63 million Frankston Station Precinct Upgrade project.
Improvements on Young Street is expected to be completed by May 2017.
