Five shortlisted companies have now moved onto the next stage in the tender process for the delivery of the $42.2 million Byford Health Hub project in Western Australia.
These companies will have until 28 August to make their submissions for the tender.
With this major milestone, residents of the rapidly growing Serpentine-Jarrahdale region are a step closer to having a progressive, integrated health hub that will provide health care services closer to where they work, play and live.
“The release of this tender marks a significant step forward for a project that will give local residents access to a range of health professionals in one convenient location.
“Byford Health Hub is an important infrastructure project for the local community, allowing people to remain close to family and friends while accessing preventative health and suring their recovery from illness or injury.
“We continue to rollout our ambitious $3.2 billion health infrastructure program, improving and expanding care across the State,” Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey said.
The Byford Health Hub will be built in the heart of the Byford town centre, about 40 kilometres south-east of the Perth CBD.
The hub will have around 3,000SQM of floor space and it will provide a single-entry point for local residents to access a range of primary care, community, social and specialist health services in one location.
The new health hub will feature a mix of services operated by private providers, not-for-profit groups and WA Health, including pathology and child health.

With the Byford Health Hub, patients will be able to access a range of WA Health Outpatient Services that they would normally have to travel to one of the State’s main hospitals for. These services range from paediatrics to maternity to physiotherapy as well as minor injury and minor illness, rheumatology, endocrinology and advice on diabetes, diet and healthy weight.
Telehealth appointments will also be made available.
In addition, anticipated community services will range from financial councelling to aged care and disability support, alcohol and other drug services, parenting support, and family and domestic violence support.
“THrough projects like the Byford Health Hub, we are delivering a new era of health.
“There is an ever-increasing demand for this type of service and the Cook Labor Government is committed to providing health care that focuses on building healthy communities and prevent serious illness and disease.
“The project team has spent a lot of time talking to the community and clinicians to establish what the new health hub should look like to esnure the best possible health service for young and old,” Health Minister Meredith Hammat said.
The East Metropolitan Health Service is co-ordinating the planning, design, development and delivery of the Byford Health Hub in conjuction with the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale and others, with advice from Aboriginal and community stakeholders.
Early works including the construction of pads for the future health hub, access roads and car parks have already been completed alongside the installation of fencing and signage.
The Byford Health Hub is on track to be completed in 2027.

“With the Byford Train Station opening in October, and early works started on the Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade, locals in Darling Range can look forward to a bright and connected future,” Darling Range MLA Hugh Jones said.
