Thiess, CIMIC Group’s mining services provider, has been awarded a $650 million contract from Fortescue Metals Group, extending its mining services at the Solomon Hub in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
With this contract, Thiess will continue to deliver mining services until 2020. Services will include maintenance of mobile and ancillary plant, autonomy solutions and non-process infrastructure management.

“This contract is a testament to the team’s passion and ability to transform improvement initiatives into innovative solutions that continue to drive long-term client value,” Thiess Managing Director Michael Wright said.
