Valmec has secured a contract – worth $5.4 million – to help build DBP Development Group’s (DDG) Tubridgi gas storage facility near Onslow, Western Australia.

Valmec’s scope of works will include multi-disciplinary field execution services, and construction is expected to begin immediately.

“We are delighted to have received this contract on this strategic Western Australian project and are looking forward to continuing our strong working relationship with the DDG team,” said Valmec Managing Director Steve Dropulich.

About the Tubridgi facility

Back in December 2016, DDG announced that the company will be building the $69 million gas storage facility in WA on the location of the depleted Tubridgi onshore gas reservoir which is about 30-kilometres south west of Onslow.

Once completed, the Tubridgi gas storage facility will be the largest of its kind in the State. The facility, at its peak operations, will be able to hold about 42-petajoules of gas as well as a daily withdrawal and deposit rate of approximately 50-terajoules.

The Tubridgi gas storage facility is expected to be operational by June 2017.
