The Bacchus Marsh Station in Victoria is set for an upgrade which will form part of the multi-million dollar Ballarat Line Upgrade. With the design revealed, construction on the train station is one step closer to beginning.

Together with 3 kilometres of new track, the new platform at the station will enable two trains to stop at the station at the same time, which will boost service reliability.
“These upgrades will provide Bacchus Marsh with a train station which can support the needs of the town’s growing population well into the future,” Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said.
Feedback from the local community regarding the station’s design resulted to improved accessibility, parking, safety and security.
“We’ve listened to this feedback and included all of these elements in the upgrade design.
“Many people also said they valued the station’s heritage, so we’ve retained the historic train turntable, as well as ensuring any new infrastructure is sympathetic to the existing station buildings,” Victorian Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan said.
With the existing stabling facility at Bacchus Marsh to be removed, a new stabling facility is going to be built further up the line at Maddingley.
Construction on Bacchus Marsh Station is set to commence later this year, with completion of the upgrade due in late 2019.
