Watpac Limited has been awarded a $325 million contract to deliver a number of projects for Australian Unity’s Herston Quarter redevelopment in Brisbane.

Watpac’s initial scope of works will include the relocation of existing site services as well as decommissioning of redundant services. Once initial works are done, Watpac will begin construction on a new Specialist Rehabilitation and Ambulatory Care Centre (SRACC building) for Metro North Hospital and Health Service. The new building will have 35,157 square metres of facilities and it will also feature a Sky Bridge Link to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Under their contract, Watpac will also be delivering the Spanish Steps which extends from Herston Road into the main public space and dedicated car parks under the SRACC. The company will deliver major infrastructure upgrades and associated road upgrades as well.
