TRENDS IN PLANT, EQUIPMENT AND SUBCONTRACTOR REQUESTS

These areas are going through an exciting time of transition and development, completely demolishing buildings to give way to new projects by building them from the ground up! With more residential and infrastructure projects on the rise like the Melbourne Rail Link and the New Mayfield Apartments, Victoria and South Australia have seen an increase in hire requests for:

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

VIC Projects

Melbourne Rail Link

Tender opportunities are set to go out between April and June of 2016, with construction to commence between July and September of 2017. This transport project will include:

  • Twin tunnels from Southern Cross to South Yarra as part of a new Frankston to Lilydale/Belgrave line
  • New underground stations at Fishermans Bend (Montague) and Domain
  • New underground platforms at Southern Cross and South Yarra stations
  • The Melbourne Airport Rail Link, connecting Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station and the Cranbourne-Pakenham corridor
  • Train-tram interchanges at the new underground stations
  • Supporting works across the rail network to improve train reliability and passenger interchange facilities
  • A package of tram and bus improvements to the inner north knowledge precinct.

SA Projects:

43 Sturt Street - New Mayfield Apartments 

The construction of the New Mayfield project has already kicked off, with stage one estimated to be completed by September 2016. This infrastructure project will include:

  • 6 buildings varying in height from 5-14 levels
  • 400 flats
  • Ground level retail
  • Upgrade to Sturt Street
